Write an agreement for families to sign
A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 10 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.
How to write an agreement for families to sign
- 1Click Agreements under Administration in the sidebar
- 2Click "Add an agreement"
- 3Fill Title — what families will see, e.g. "Tuition agreement" or "Family handbook"
- 4Write the whole wording in "What they are agreeing to" — it sits above the signature box, so a parent shouldn't need a PDF to know what they signed
- 5Drop the listed {{studentName}}, {{schoolName}} and {{schoolYear}} tokens into the wording to fill in the child's name, your school's name or the school year, so you don't retype them every August
- 6Optionally paste the full document's web address into "Link to the full document"
- 7Under "How families may answer", pick "Agree only" for a form to acknowledge, or "Agree or decline" where no is a real answer
- 8Under "What it is for", pick Photo release, Handbook acknowledgment, Technology / internet use, Field trips, Statement of faith, Therapy on campus, School choice / ESA program or Tuition agreement — or leave it as "Just a record"
- 9Leave "Every family must answer this one" ticked, set Order (lower numbers come first in the portal), and click Save
- 10Accepted families now sign it in their enrollment forms; families already here sign in the portal, and the "Who has signed" table on this page shows who has and who hasn't
