Questions about pricing

How does pricing work?
Every school pays a base of $50 a month, which covers up to 20 students. Beyond that, per-student pricing steps down with size: $2.50 each for students 21–100, $2 to 300, $1.50 to 600, and $1 beyond. Staff and parent accounts are always unlimited and free.
What happens after the 30 free days?
Signup takes a card, but nothing is charged during the trial. On day 31 the card is charged your monthly price ($50 for up to 20 students), and monthly from then on. Cancel before day 31 and you pay nothing: one email to support@pearspark.com does it.
Are there setup or onboarding fees?
No. Setup is free and self-serve: imports with previews, how-to videos and guides are included for everyone. There are no per-seat charges for teachers or parents, and the plan is month to month. If you get stuck, email support@pearspark.com and a person will help.
What kind of support is included?
Every school gets full support, free: email answered by a person, short how-to videos, step-by-step guides and quick-start handbooks for each role. There are no paid support tiers.
Is there a fee on tuition payments?
Families are never charged extra, tuition you collect by cash or check costs nothing, and the money lands in your school's own Stripe account rather than ours. On tuition a family pays online, 0.5% comes out of that payment as our platform fee. Your payment processor's own fees are separate and go to them, as they would with any provider.
Can we import our existing students and books?
Yes. Import students and your library catalog from a spreadsheet, and look up books by ISBN to fill in their details.
Is our data private and secure?
Every school's data is kept separate from every other school's. Parents and students see only their own records, staff access is set by role, and every view of a student record is logged. We never use your students' data to train AI (section 5 of our privacy policy), and we'll sign that commitment for your board on request at support@pearspark.com.
Can we get our data out?
Always. Your roster, grades, admissions pipeline and library catalog export to spreadsheets anytime. Your data is yours.
What happens when our student count changes?
Your subscription adjusts on its own. Add students mid-year and you're billed only for the new ones; the base always includes your first 20.
