How does pricing work?+
Every school pays one flat $50 per month, which covers up to 20 students. Beyond that, per-student pricing steps down with size: $2.50 each for students 21–100, $2 to 300, $1.50 to 600, and $1 beyond. Staff and parent accounts are always unlimited and free.
Are there setup or onboarding fees?+
No required ones. Setup is free and self-serve — imports with previews, how-to videos, and guides are included for everyone, and there are no per-seat charges for teachers or parents and no long-term contract. If you'd like a person to do it with you, that's optional: live setup sessions are included free with the $99/month Priority support plan, and a full done-for-you migration is $999 one-time.
What kind of support is included, and what does more cost?+
Every school gets standard support free: email support, a library of short how-to videos, step-by-step guides, and role quick-start handbooks. Priority support is $99/month flat (never per-student): same-business-day answers, bookable calls, live setup sessions, and a quarterly check-in, with a 3-month minimum. Concierge is $249/month: we make the changes for you, with your permission, every change logged and reported back.
Is there a fee on tuition payments?+
Yes, and it's the only charge beyond your subscription. When a family pays tuition online through Pearspark, we take a 0.5% platform fee out of that payment. Tuition you collect by cash or check costs nothing. Families are never charged extra — the fee comes out of the payment, not on top of it — and money goes straight into your school's own Stripe account, not ours. Your payment processor's own fees are separate and go to them, as they would with any provider.
Can we import our existing students and books?+
Yes — you can bulk-import students and your library catalog from a spreadsheet, and look up books by ISBN to auto-fill details.
Is our data private and secure?+
Every school's data is fully isolated from every other school. Parents and students only ever see their own records, staff access is controlled by role-based permissions, and every view of a student record is logged. We never use your students' data to train AI — a Data Processing Addendum is available for your board.
Can we get our data out?+
Always. Your roster, grades, admissions pipeline, and library catalog export to spreadsheets anytime — your data is yours, with no lock-in.
What happens when our student count changes?+
Your subscription adjusts automatically. Add students mid-year and you're only billed for the additional ones; the base always includes your first 20.
