Tell the school all your children will be out
A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 7 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.
How to tell the school all your children will be out
- 1On portal Home, click Report an absence on either child's card — the "Going to be out?" window opens
- 2Under Who?, the child you started from is already picked; tap each brother or sister who is going too
- 3Leave What's happening? on "Out for the day" (Arriving late and Leaving early cover one day)
- 4Set First day and Last day — one note covers up to three weeks, up to two months ahead
- 5The gray box names the children and counts the school days from your school's own calendar, so weekends and days off don't count
- 6Add a Reason (optional) and click Send to the school. Each child's teachers and the office get one note; the message reads "Sent — the school knows … will be out for N school days"
- 7On each child's page, under Going to be out?, every day of the trip reads Sent, then Seen by school once the office has read it
Part of Attendance, schedule & calendar
A tap per kid on attendance, bell periods and breaks behind the schedule, and one school calendar every family and student sees in their portal.
