When staying with SchoolCues is the right call
If parent communication is the single problem you're buying software to solve, SchoolCues is shaped for it: newsletters, yearbooks, alumni management and conference scheduling are real modules there and have no equivalent here. On texting the gap is narrower than it was and it is a pricing gap — theirs is unlimited inside the plan, ours is prepaid at 2.7¢ a text, one-way, from the emergency console and the message composer. A school that texts its families every week should price both. For everything else on a school's plate — the gradebook-to-transcript spine, admissions, billing, and a price you can compute before talking to anyone — the comparison tilts back.

What is the best SchoolCues alternative with published pricing?
For the same small-school, everything-included positioning: Pearspark, whose full schedule is public ($75/month at 30 students, computed from the page). For maximum maturity, Gradelink's calculator prices from $106/month at 25 students, plus setup fees. For the lowest rate, QuickSchools from $0.99/student. What none of them match is SchoolCues' communication suite — newsletters, yearbooks, alumni, and texting with nothing to count.
Does leaving SchoolCues mean losing the parent-communication tools?
Partly, and it's worth being plain about the line. Newsletters, yearbooks and alumni management are real SchoolCues modules without a full equivalent on this list.
