Ask for a letter of recommendation about an applicant
A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 8 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.
How to ask for a letter of recommendation about an applicant
- 1Click Admissions under People in the sidebar and open the applicant
- 2Scroll to the "Letters of recommendation" card
- 3Click "Ask for a letter"
- 4In "Ask for a letter about <name>", fill "Their name" and "Their email" — their old teacher, a coach, a pastor
- 5Fill "How do they know the child?" (e.g. "4th grade teacher") — it is shown back to them, so a wrong address is obvious
- 6Optionally fill "What would you like them to cover?"
- 7Click "Send the request" — they get a private link, with no account and no sign-in, and the letter lands back on this card
- 8Watch the row's status badge; click Send again if it goes quiet, or Withdraw to stop their link working (a letter already sent stays on file)
Part of Admissions, enrollment & re-enrollment
A public application form that feeds a checkpoint pipeline, interviews with named interviewers, one-click enrollment, and spring re-enrollment that chases its own responses.
