Book a room around what's already reserved

A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 8 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.

How to book a room around what's already reserved

  1. 1Click Reserve under "Library & resources" in the sidebar
  2. 2Click the "Resources" tab and search by name, features or location in the "Search — name, projector, seats…" box (it does not match seat counts)
  3. 3Each room card says how its day looks — "Free all day today", "Free till 1p today", or "Booked out today"
  4. 4Click "Reserve" on the room — the dialog opens as "Reserve — {room}"
  5. 5Move days with the Previous day / Next day arrows, or pick a date
  6. 6"Taken times are gray. Click a free span to pick it, then fine-tune below." — a class or a booking labels each gray block, and clicking a free span picks its first hour
  7. 7Adjust with the "From" and "Until" selects, or tick "Whole day"
  8. 8Click the button — it names what you're booking, e.g. "Reserve 10a–11a" — and the booking lands under "My holds & reservations" with its time span; Cancel there gives the room back

Barcode labels you print yourself, a scan station for checkout, holds families place from home, shared equipment reserved with dates instead of arguments — and the textbooks, shelf counts, and supply cupboard that come with all of it.
