How to send a message to a class, student, or colleague

  1. 1In the sidebar under Communication, click "Messages"
  2. 2Click the "Compose" button in the page header
  3. 3In the "New message" dialog, pick the audience from the "Send to" chips — "A class", "A student", "A teacher" or "All teachers" (admins also see "All students")
  4. 4Pick the "Recipient" — click the picker and type to search
  5. 5Fill in "Subject (optional)" and the "Message" body
  6. 6Check the "Sending to:" line, then click "Send" (a class send reads "Send to 14" so the size is confirmed first)
  7. 7Click the "Sent" chip above the list to see the note you just sent; recipients read it in their inbox, and parents and students in the portal Messages tab

Part of Messages & announcements

One compose reaches every family's portal inbox — plus teacher-to-family threads and an oversight search so leadership can stand behind every message.
