How to set up grading categories and drop-lowest

  1. 1Open your class's Gradebook, open the More menu in the page header, and click Grading
  2. 2Under "How should this class be graded?", pick Equal weight (simple average), By individual assignment weight, or By assignment type (category)
  3. 3For category mode, click Add category and fill Type (e.g. Quiz), % weight, and Drop (lowest N scores in that category)
  4. 4Watch the Total reach 100%
  5. 5For the other modes, set Drop lowest scores to exclude each student's lowest N scores
  6. 6Click Save
