Clock in and out for your shift
A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 7 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.
How to clock in and out for your shift
- 1In the sidebar under People, click Time clock. It appears once your admin marks you as an hourly employee.
- 2On the Time clock page, stay on the My time clock tab (the Timesheets tab only appears for managers).
- 3The card reads "Not clocked in" — click Clock in. Sharing your location is optional; the note under the button explains why ("Share your location when you clock in and Pearspark reminds you to clock out if you leave without punching").
- 4The card flips to a green "On the clock" badge with "since" and the start time, and a live running total ("today", or "this shift" if it started before today).
- 5Scroll to the This week table — Day, In, Out, Duration — with the week's total beside the heading.
- 6At the end of the day, click Clock out. The row closes and the duration lands in This week.
- 7If you forgot yesterday: an amber banner reads "You forgot to clock out" and names when you clocked in. Click Set clock-out time, fill Day and Time in the "When did you clock out?" dialog, and click Close the punch — then you can clock in again.
Part of Staff, time clock & substitutes
Staff clock in and out and ask for time off; you fix a punch, send the pay period to payroll, keep each teacher's clearance on file, and say who covers a class.
