Find the children you haven't observed lately

A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 7 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.

How to find the children you haven't observed lately

  1. 1Click Observations under Learning in the sidebar
  2. 2Read the "This week" card in the right rail — "Observations", "Children covered", "Shared with family"
  3. 3Below it, read the "Not observed lately" card — children not observed in five days or more (up to eight), longest gap first
  4. 4Check each row's days token — "12d", or "never" for a child with no observation at all
  5. 5Click the + beside a name — the "New observation" dialog opens with that child already in the "Student" box
  6. 6Type into "What you observed" and add a "Curriculum area"
  7. 7Click "Save observation" — the note joins the journal and that child drops off the list
