Log a behavior incident

A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 9 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.

How to log a behavior incident

  1. 1Click People then Behavior in the sidebar
  2. 2Click Log incident
  3. 3Search for the student by name and click the name (teachers can log only students in their own classes)
  4. 4Pick the type and where it happened; leave When empty to record the moment you save
  5. 5Write what happened: facts only, what you saw and heard, in order
  6. 6Add what you did under Action taken, and how and when you reached a parent under Parent contacted
  7. 7Tick Visible to the family in the portal if the family should see the entry
  8. 8Click Log incident
  9. 9The entry sits at the top of the log marked Open until the office reviews it

Part of Health, behavior & safety

Allergies that badge the student everywhere, medication logs, printable emergency cards, behavior notes families actually read, and a handbook ladder every adult follows the same way.
