Record what each child in the class can do

A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 6 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.

How to record what each child in the class can do

  1. 1Click Learning then Classes in the sidebar and open the class
  2. 2Click More, then Skills
  3. 3Find the child's row and the skill's column
  4. 4Click the cell to cycle it: blank not yet, then working on it, then has it
  5. 5Read the In hand column for how many of the class's skills that child holds
  6. 6A lock marks a skill that has to be solid before moving on — it stops her curriculum until she has it (set with "Has to be solid before moving on" where the skill is written, under Academics)

Part of Standards-based grading & mastery

Tag assignments with standards, rate mastery where the latest evidence wins, and report skills to families — separate from GPA transcripts.
