Plan two grades in one class

A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 7 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.

How to plan two grades in one class

  1. 1Click Classes in the Learning section of the sidebar and open the class
  2. 2Scroll to the Lesson planner card and find Groups
  3. 3Click "One group per grade" to put each student in a group by their grade — or click "New group", type a Name and tick the Students, then click "Add group"
  4. 4To move a child, click Edit on a group and tick them — a student is in one group at a time
  5. 5Click "Open the planner" — the class row is for the whole class ("Whole class" under its name), with a row for each group under it
  6. 6Click + Add in a group's row — the new lesson's "For" is set to that group — fill in Title and click "Add lesson"
  7. 7Families see a group's lessons only for their own child, and never see the group's name; Remove on a group keeps its lessons as whole-class lessons
