Charge a payment plan fee
A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 7 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.
How to charge a payment plan fee
- 1In the sidebar under Administration, click Billing, then the "Enrollment" tab
- 2Scroll to the "Payment plan fee" section and click "Set it up" (it reads "Edit" once a fee exists)
- 3Tick "Charge a fee for paying in installments", then set "What families see" — the label printed as its own line on their invoice
- 4Under "Charged as", pick "A flat amount per payment" (Amount ($), charged per student on each invoice) or "A percent of each payment" (Percent (%), of what the student owes after aid)
- 5Under "Applies to these plans", tick the plans it applies to (Weekly, Every 2 weeks, Monthly, Quarterly, Twice a year, School-year schedule) — annual and one-time plans are never charged
- 6Click Save — the summary card shows the fee and which plans it rides on
- 7Note in the wrap: it's charged as its own invoice line on invoices generated from now on; invoices already sent are never rewritten
