Find the students who are chronically absent

A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 7 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.

How to find the students who are chronically absent

  1. 1In the sidebar under Administration, click Reports.
  2. 2Under the Academics heading, find the Chronic absence card and its count (it reads "all clear" when nobody is below the line).
  3. 3Click View report.
  4. 4The section heading reads "Attendance rate below 90%" with the rule underneath: "Since the school year started, ten recorded days minimum. A day split across classes counts once, worst mark wins."
  5. 5Read the table: Student, Grade, Days recorded, Absent, Rate.
  6. 6Click Download CSV to take the list with you — every download is logged, and Reports, Recent runs lists past runs.
  7. 7Click a student's name to open their record, then click the Attendance tile to see the attendance calendar behind the number.
