Create a rubric
A screen recording of Pearspark doing exactly this in a sample school, and the same 9 steps written out below in the labels you'll see on screen.
How to create a rubric
- 1Click Rubrics under Learning in the sidebar
- 2Click New rubric — on an empty page, Add starter rubrics sits beside it
- 3Fill in "Rubric name" and "What it's for"
- 4Under Levels, choose one of your grade scales — its levels become the columns, best first
- 5Click "Write a skill…" in the first row and type the skill — pick one of your standards as you type, or write a new one; set "Counts ×" to 2 to make a skill weigh double, then click Done
- 6Click the cell under each level and describe what that level looks like
- 7Click "Add a skill" for the next row — or "Add several from your list", then tick the skills you want and click Add
- 8Click Create rubric — the rubric opens on its own page
- 9If Rubrics isn't in the sidebar at all, the module is off — an admin ticks it under Settings, "Modules & campuses", then Save changes
Part of Gradebook, report cards & transcripts
Enter grades in a spreadsheet-style grid, post them once, and watch report cards and transcripts assemble themselves — plus the What-If views families use on their side.
